Exodus Game Cinematic

I had the great honor to work on the Cinematic for the SciFi Game "Exodus".
My task was to create one of the Main Characters - "the Traveler"
The work went from building cloth/shoes/Accessories to his glowing Tattoos and face texture/Scars.
I also prepared a rough first hair pass which was later passed on to hair-artists at Blur tho.
I really had a hard time to get the capes hoodie right, this was where Romain Chassefiere improved the overall design in Marvelous Designer. The face was later improved by Tom Tran if I recall it right, in any case, after I passed the character on - there were many improvements made to bring it to the current level.
So I feel like I contributed only a small amount of work.

I was having high expectations to myself, working on this hero character, for a complete new Game IP.
Reworking some of my thinking pattern and work habits around creating Textures, shaders and workflows.

As the Tattoo was a very uncertain thing, I really had to come up with creative ways to combine various designs in Mari to export these as a texture / RGBs to later be combined in various ways to create the final effect of rings and star systems and so on.
Overall, this was one of my biggest challenges at Blur yet, and in the same time the most passionate one.

Seeing the trailer gives me goosebumps, I am very happy with the result and the Internet Buzz this created!
The massive talent at Blur to bring this to live just leaves me in awe.
I can not thank Nicolas Collings enough to have trusted me with this great task.
Thank you to all the great team at Blur, and the CM team, among them Andrea Bertaccini and Damien Canderle who set high standards with their work, pushing my own further and further.
